IMPORTANT NOTICE OF MEETING JULY 27, 2010

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your interest in our endeavour to oppose the Industrial Wind Turbine developments proposed for Clarington, especially to those of you who attended our community information meeting on June 10th. We hope that you found our guest speakers' presentations to be very helpful in understanding the issues that are being raised about the risks involved the siting of wind turbines so close to residential homes and schools. We are continuing to work in the interest of our community towards halting these developments until independent clinical studies are conducted to determine safe and appropriate setback distances.

I presented a delegation to Clarington Council this past Monday, during which time I spoke about our concerns about health effects, safety issues, impact on property values, and the lack of environmental assessments required of the projects. Our local representatives are supportive of our concerns, and will be introducing a resolution at the next meeting to voice their objections to the Wind Farm Projects, given the current Ontario regulations. We would appreciate your support at council this coming Monday June 28th at 7pm in the Municipal Building, Bowmanville. I will be presenting another short delegation, followed by some discussion by our council members about the subject. Your presence will help to reinforce the concern that exists in Clarington about these projects.

Most importantly, Energy Farming Inc, the proponent for the ZEP Windfarm Ganaraska project has given notice of their first public meeting: Tuesday July 27th at the Orono Town Hall 5-8pm.

IT IS CRITICAL THAT WE HAVE A LARGE TURN-OUT TO THIS MEETING! This will be one of the few opportunities that we will have to voice our objections to the developer during the application process. Please plan to attend and spread the word among your contacts.

Thanks for your time and efforts. If you have any questions or would like to help us with our efforts to promote this issue in the community, please contact us.
